Dr. Ali Mahmut Kenter, 84, died Sunday, May 1st at Danbury Hospital. Dr. Kenter was born May 29th, 1926 in Istanbul, Turkey to the late Naci and Olga Cynthia (Cuthbert) Kenter.
Dr. Kenter graduated with a degree in medicine in 1951 from Ankara University. He specialized in Ear, Nose and Throat diseases at the Cleveland Clinic from 1953 to 1955, and then performed his residency at Boston City Hospital. In 1958, Dr. Kenter moved to Danbury and worked in his specialty there until he retired in 1998.
Dr. Kenter is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Grazina (Knystautas) Kenter and their three sons: Victor Kenter and his wife Kathleen (Gussman) of Guilford; Yunus Kenter of Miami Florida and his three children Douglas, Malcolm and Alexander; Almus Kenter and his wife Andrea (Sutherland) of Kingston, NH and their three children Linas, Daris and Magdalena. He is also survived by one brother, Musfik Kenter, of Istanbul, Turkey and two sisters, Guner Laker of Izmir Turkey and Yildiz Kenter of Istanbul, Turkey, as well as many nieces and nephews.
