Obituary of Tiina Molino

Tiina (Karner) Molino, a loving wife, dedicated nurse, and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. Tiina was born on February 2, 1947, in Sweden to Peter and Ella (Merilo) Karner. At the tender age of three, she embarked on a new chapter of her life when her family relocated to the United States.

Tiina received her education in the Yonkers, New York school system, where she excelled academically. With a compassionate heart and a desire to help others, she pursued a career in nursing. Tiina became a registered nurse and joined the staff at Cross County Hospital in Yonkers, where she provided exceptional care to her patients.

It was during this time that Tiina's path intertwined with that of Carmine Charles Molino, the love of her life. Their connection blossomed, leading them to join in marriage and create a beautiful family together. Tiina and Carmine were blessed with two children, Michael and Lisa. As their family grew, they settled in Mount Vernon, NY, and Tiina found her calling at Lawrence Hospital, now known as New York Presbyterian in Bronxville, NY. Tiina's dedication and unwavering commitment to her profession were evident as she selflessly cared for countless patients throughout her career. Her empathy, kindness, and expertise brought comfort to those in need, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.

Upon her retirement in 2009, Tiina embraced the joys of her leisure time. She possessed a creative spirit and enjoyed engaging in crafts; finding solace and fulfillment in the artistic process. Tiina's sharp intellect and love for mental challenges led her to solve newspaper puzzles, test her luck with the daily lottery, and engage in lively card games. She reveled in the warm embrace of summer days spent at the pool, relishing the simple pleasures of relaxation and sun-kissed memories.

Tiina also found great happiness and camaraderie in the Southbury Senior Center, where she eagerly participated in the weekly Thursday Bingo games. However, the truest joy in Tiina's life lay in the role of a doting grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with her two granddaughters, their laughter and love filling her heart with immeasurable warmth and joy.

Tiina (Karner) Molino will be remembered as a dedicated and compassionate nurse, a loving wife, a proud mother, and an adoring grandmother. Her legacy of care, kindness, and joy will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories and a lasting impact on her family and friends.

Tiina is survived by her daughter Lisa, her son-in-law Phillip and two granddaughters Cheyanne and Chelsea James and a host of other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael, beloved husband, Carmine Charles Molino, her parents, Peter and Ella Karner and Brother Mart Karner.

A Celebration of Life service to honor Tiina will be held in September. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that her legacy of love and compassion lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
