Obituary of Clarence B McCarty, Jr

Clarence B. McCarty Jr, known to most as Mack McCarty, 78, of Brookfield, Connecticut went home to be with the Lord on November 18, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Lestik) McCarty for 59 wonderful years.  Together they shared three children, Lisa, Robert, and Richard McCarty. He was born in Port Jervis, New York to the late Clarence B. McCarty Sr and Thelma Alice (Pennell) McCarty. Mack served in the Army National Guard from 1967-1972..  He retired from Yankee Gas after 41 years of service.  He was a devoted member of the Brookfield First Assembly and will be remembered for his devotion to God and love of family.  Mack had a passion for hunting and fishing and was a member of the Newtown Fish and Game Club. He loved great food, especially seafood, and brought joy to everyone’s holiday with his Christmas village and train displays.   Mack and Joyce were avid travelers in their retired years enjoying cruises and adventures in the west.  To know Mack was to know kindness beyond measure, patience in abundance and unconditional love.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce McCarty, daughter Lisa Locke, son Robert (Sarah) McCarty, son Richard (Kristine) McCarty, along with eight grandchildren Christopher (Catherine) Val, Felicia Carmel, Ashley McCarty, Amber (Jesse) Cook, Nathan McCarty, Jessica Locke, Riley McCarty, Hunter McCarty and 5 great grandchildren, Brayden, Parker, Micah Val, Jaxon Merten Slodowski, and Bryce Lemke.

Calling hours will be at Brookfield First Assembly 133 Junction Road, Brookfield, Connecticut on Nov 27, 2021 beginning at 10am followed immediately by a memorial service beginning at 11am.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Brookfield First Assembly.

Mack will be deeply missed and thought of often with smiling faces for the joy he brought to us all.  And though we will grieve his loss, we will also celebrate his new life.  A life of being complete in body, mind and spirit  with his Heavenly Father.  We rest in the peace of knowing we are not saying goodbye, but see you later Mack.
