Obituary of Lise Walker

Lise Walker

Lise Marie (Borduas) Walker passed away quietly Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Middlebury Convalescent Home. A former longtime resident of Danbury, CT, Lise was born March 2, 1931 in Montreal, Canada to the late Joseph and Antoinette (Vary) Borduas.

Lise graduated from Sutton School for Girls in Canada, and not long after met her late husband, William, through a relative, married and moved to Danbury, CT where Bill Resided. They shared a wonderful life of 60 years together raising their four children and grandkids until his death in 2011. Enjoying many activities together- they loved tending to their home and gardens, and had a network of cherished friends whom they spent much time with - either traveling extensively near and far seeing the world; sharing Saturday dinners & cards; boating on Candlewood Lake; backyard picnics and celebrating special occasions .

Lise was very active in St. Edwards during her lifetime - teaching catechism, driving for the FISH program, and belonging to the decorating committee. She was very artistic and creative, an avid painter, in both oils and acrylics. She belonged to Brushes of NWCT for many years. She was always an avid sewer and knitter, making afghans for many people, especially for weddings and baby showers. At one point she took an adult education class learning cake decorating going on to bake wedding cakes for numerous years both privately and for Danbury facilities (Amber Room, Ethan Allen, Stony Hill, Charter Oak Room). In the warm months, Lise loved to spend time in her numerous gardens - vegetable, flower, and beautiful water garden - which took up much of her time.

Lise is predeceased by her husband William, and daughter Susan, as well as her brothers Jacque, Pierre, John, and Paul. She is survived by her sons, Michael of Danbury, Richard (Jacqueline) of New Milford; daughter Janice (Michael) Edwards of Oxford; brother Joey Borduas of St. Hypolyte, Quebec; son-in-law Michael Hesik of Newtown; 3 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and many relatives.

In Lise's final hours, when asked "Mom, what will you do when you get "home"? She replied, "I am going to rock"; which to Lise, meant getting comfortable in one of her rocking chairs and enjoying good music, maybe reading or doing a word puzzle, or just watching nature happen!
