Obituary of Etura Fleming

Etura  “Snooky” Fleming, age 83 of Danbury, passed away quietly on Monday July 20th at Danbury Hospital.  “Snooky,” as she was fondly known, was born in Danbury on December 12, 1936 to the late Arnold and Etura Miller Reiske.  Snooky was the widow of James Fleming.

Snooky graduated from Norwalk Hospital Nursing School and went on to Danbury Hospital as a surgical nurse in the OR and One Day Surgery for many years. Snooky enjoyed camping, knitting, and crocheting.  Snooky belonged to the American legion in Bethel and loved her dogs.

Snooky will be sadly missed by her siblings: Eugene Reiske and his wife Terri of New Milford, Neil Reiske and his wife Debbie of Oregon, Sally Pierce of Danbury, Robert Reiske of Danbury and Ronald Reiske and his wife Marlene of Brookfield; her sister-in-law Janet Reiske of Watertown and many, many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, Snooky was predeceased by her brothers Emil and Herbert Reiske.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday July 28th in St. Mary Cemetery in Bethel.  In accordance with CDC Guidelines, all are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
