Obituary of Charles James O'Rourke
Charles J. O'Rourke, 64, of Hopewell Junction, husband of Valerie (Lendinara) O'Rourke, died peacefully in his sleep at home on Friday, April 27, 2018. He was born in Yonkers on April 28, 1953, son of the late Charles W. and Marion (Kerr) O'Rourke.
Charlie owned and operated Hoops Express specializing in AAU Basketball. He also enjoyed working as a private tennis instructor.
In addition to his wife, Valerie, he will be missed by his son, Kyle O'Rourke; his sisters, Colleen and Sharon O'Rourke of Danbury; several Godchildren; and his dogs, Buddy and Yankee.
He was predeceased by his brother, Dennis O'Rourke and his wife, Rose.
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday, May 2nd at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Mountainview Cemetery, New Fairfield.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday between the hours of 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00.
