James S. Huszka, age 70, a 41 year resident of Brookfield and husband to Rosemary (McDonnell) Huszka, died Wednesday, July 20th at Danbury Hospital after an extended illness. Jim was born October 26, 1940 in Bronx, NY. He was the son of the late Steven and Malvina (Grelak) Huszka.
Jim retired after 17 years as Sr. Security Guard at Danbury Hospital. Prior to that, he was a Sr. Systems Analyst for several area companies. He was a long time parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Brookfield. James loved to fish and he coached little league softball for his daughters in their younger years. He was also a past volunteer fireman and auxiliary police constable in Brookfield. His family was the center of his world. He loved being around his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jim will be missed by his wife of 48 years, Rosemary and his four daughters, Rosemary Champlain and her husband Steven of Brookfield, Theresa Huszka of Medina, OH, Patricia Huszka of San Diego, CA and Ann Huszka Rea and her husband Robert of Florence, MA; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Shannon Champlain and Izobel Rea; three step-grandchildren, Stacy Naftzger, Doug and Amanda Hartman; four step-great grandchildren, Logan, Grant, Larenzo and Abel; one nephew Stephen Ward and his wife Christina and two great-nephews, Stephen and Matthew. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Ward and his nephew, William Ward. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 AM on Saturday, July 23rd at St. Joseph Church, 159 Whisconier Rd, Brookfield, burial to follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM on Friday, July 22nd at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. Donations Information
