Obituary of Daniel Gregory Holt

Daniel Holt January 27, 1987 - June 23, 2010 Daniel Gregory Holt, age 23, of Danbury, beloved son of Gregory and Elizabeth (Pennell) Holt of Danbury, died at his home on Wednesday, June 23rd. He was born in Danbury on January 27, 1987. He graduated from Danbury High School Class of 2005, and was captain of the football team. Danny worked as a student aid at the YMCA in Brookfield. He loved working with children and volunteered as a coach for Pop Warner Football and flag football. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Mets Fan. Danny wore his heart on his sleeve; you always knew how he felt. He was easy to talk to, always polite, and was difficult not to like. Though he was never the life of the party, he was always someone you would invite and enjoy being around. In addition to his parents, Greg and Elizabeth, he will be sadly missed by his brothers, Eric Bassriel and Jay Anthony Holt, both of Danbury; his girlfriend, Cara Bellamy of Brookfield; his grandmother, Barbara McCarthy of St. Petersburg, FL; his niece and nephew, Aiden and Kayla Bassriel. He also leaves behind countless friends who loved him dearly. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Henry and Lillian Holt; and his step-grandfather, Tim McCarthy. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 25th at 2:00pm at the New Hope Baptist Church in Danbury. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday between the hours of 12:00 and 2:00pm.
