Obituary of Roy E. Heine

Roy E. Heine December 29, 1946 - September 09, 2006 Roy E. Heine, 59, of Padanaram Road, Danbury, died at Danbury Hospital on Saturday, September 9th. He was born in New York, NY., on December 29, 1946, son of Florence F. (Doerr) Heine of Danbury and the late John C. Heine. He received his Masters Degree in Science from the University of Western New Mexico State, and a second Masters Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. Roy was a veteran of Vietnam, serving with the United States Marines in Germany and the Pacific. He was a devoted teacher with the Yonkers School System for more than 17 years and loved to share his knowledge. He enjoyed collecing minature soldiers and playing war games. He loved Biology, Military History, and nature. He will be sadly missed by his family. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Gretchen Sides and her husband, Tony of Fort Worth, Texas; his four grandchildren, Cody McClintock, Haley, Tony, and Gracey Sides; his two brothers, John C. Heine and his wife, Peggy of Danbury, and Neil W. Heine of Fishkill, NY.; and his sister, Laura A. Deckel of Carmel, NY. He is also survived by his stepsister, Noreen Ward and her husband, Lloyd of Sugarloaf, NY.; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 13th at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Burial in Gate of Heaven, Vallhalla, NY will follow. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Tuesday, September 12th between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm.
