Catherine B. "Kitty" Garavel February 17, 1915 - August 30, 2005 Catherine B. "Kitty" (Wilcox) Garavel. Our beloved "Gram/Nana", 90, passed away on August 30, 2005 at The Hospice Care Center in Copley, Ohio. She was born in Pauling, NY, February 17th, 1915 to the late John and Lulu Wilcox; she had lived most of her life in Danbury, most recently a resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio for 11 years. She retired from Perkin Elmer (Norwalk, CT) after 25 years of service as an assembly supervisor, prior to her career with Perkin Elmer she worked for Sperry Electronics and the Danbury Hat Company. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Lulu Wilcox, loving husband John J. (Jack) Garavel, sister Elizabeth Shultz and brother, Roy Wilcox. She is survived by her six grandchildren, Terry Fisher, Larry Glowney of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Dawn (Glen) Sparks of Doylestown, Ohio, Michele (Tim) Ryan of Naugatuck, CT, Richard (Megan) Mancuso and Cathy (Paul) Murphy of Danbury, CT. Thirteen great-grandchildren: Ashlyn (Robert) Monroe, Thomas J. Fisher, Jeremy A. Fisher, Nikki Glowney of Cuyahoga Falls, Amanda Hartman of Kent, OH, Jessica Sparks of Ashville, NC, Maggie Sparks of St. Louis, MO, Brendan Ryan, Travis Ryan of Naugatuck CT, Faith Mancuso, Kevin Murphy, Paul Murphy Jr. and Sean Murphy all of Danbury, CT. One great-great granddaughter Sierra Noelle Monroe of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. One Niece Betty (Al) Naradzay of Brookfield, CT and four great nieces Patty, Margie, Kathy, and Suzie. She will also be greatly missed by her Ohio Friends, Alita Donnete, Betty Walker, Mary Flanagan and Jan Frischy. A special thank you to her special Hospice Care Givers Denise Lyons, Mary Grable, Kristen Spitech and the Care Center Team. Funeral Information Funeral service will be Tuesday September 6th, at Cornell Funeral Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, CT. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Services will begin at 11:00 am with the Rev. Freeman of the United Methodist Church of Danbury, officiating. Burial will take place at the Wooster Cemetery in Danbury, CT. Donations Information In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, Ohio 44333.
