Obituary of Claire Roseann Fowler

Claire Roseann Fowler June 11, 1923 - March 27, 2011 Claire Roseann (Arcand) Fowler, of Newtown, wife of the late Frank E. Fowler, died at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, March 27th. She was born in Montreal, Canada on June 11, 1923. She was the oldest daughter of Philip and Marie (Trembley) Arcand. During her youth, she was an avid dancer and loved to roller skate. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, The Eastern Star, and the Newtown Homemakers. She immigrated to the USA in the 1930's, settling in Bethel, and spending summers on Candlewood Lake. She traveled extensively with her late husband, Frank, while he was assigned to the European Theater during World War II. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she devoted herself to maintaining the family home for her husband and children. She also loved to knit. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Wendyann C. Fowler of Newtown; her son, Barry F. Fowler of Waterbury; her grandson, Todd E. Fowler of Seymour; and her brother Philip Arcand and his wife, Audrey of Guelph, Ontario; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday, March 31st at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information Memorial Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, CT Chapter.
