Obituary of Thomas Clayton Forschner

Thomas Clayton Forschner February 14, 1958 - July 16, 2008 Thomas Clayton Forschner, 50, of Richmond Texas, passed away in Brookfield Wednesday, July 16th. He was born in Danbury on February 14, 1958, beloved son of Thomas J. Forschner of Brookfield, and the late Judith (McGran) Forschner. He was a graduate of Brookfield High School, class of 1976 and Western Connecticut State University, where he met his former, wife, Maria Connie Almeida. A Doctorate in Chemistry, he worked as a chemist and researcher for Shell Oil, achieving more than 150 science patents. He was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and St. John's Church in Richmond, Texas. Tom was a brilliant chemist, spending many hours on science projects with his daughter, Caitlin. For years he devoted himself to his children's activities including, coaching his son Thomas's soccer teams. His hobbies included motorcycles, camping, and bible study. He taught CCE classes at Sacred Heart and lent his many talents to all who asked. He will always be remembered for his unending love for his children, contagious laugh, engaging smile, and his unique way of making everyone around him love him. In addition to his father, Thomas, he will be sadly missed by his son, Thomas J. Forschner and his daughter, Caitlin Forschner, both of Richmond, TX; his former wife of 21 years, M. Connie Almeida of Richmond, TX; his brother, Sean Forschner of Brookfield; his two sisters, Margaret DelValle of Miami, Fl and Jessica Wahlgren and her husband, Craig of Sugarland, TX; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his two aunts, Charline Sokol of Patterson, NY and Lynn Jurenka of Austin, TX. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 21st at 10:00am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Deer Hill Avenue, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Sunday, July 20th between the hours of 3:00 and 5:00pm. A Memorial Service will be held in Richmond, Texas at a later date.
