Obituary of Stephen Fesh

Stephen Fesh June 07, 1933 - July 11, 2009 Stephen Fesh, age 76, of Danbury, beloved husband of Gail (Zawilinsky) Fesh, passed away Saturday, July 11th at Danbury Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Danbury on June 7, 1933, son of the late John and Mary (Zeleniak) Fesh. A lifelong resident of Danbury, Stephen attended Danbury schools before enlisting in the Air Force for a four year tour of duty. He was a graduate of Spartan School of Aeronautics in Oklahoma, as a multi engine mechanic and flight engineer. He was employed for many years by Johns Manville Corporation. He loved to fly and held a single engine pilot license. In addition, he was also owner and operator of a health food store on South Street in Danbury for several years. He joined Branson Ultrasonic Power as a reliability engineer and received a patent for spot welding, using ultrasonic energy. His interest in computers led him to return to school at Universal Computer Institute, thus beginning his career as a programmer analyst, retiring from Branson after 20 years of service. His hobbies included gardening, travel and Jazz. Stephen will be sadly missed by his wife of 28 years, Gail; his sons, Scott Vaiskauckas of Danbury, Richard Kling and his wife, Eileen and their children, Amanda and Nicholas of Waterbury, and Alan Fesh of Florida; his daughters, Diane Fesh, Roxanne Boyington, and Terryanne Birdsall, and their children. He is also survived by his brother, Frank Fesh and his wife, Carmen of Yonkers, NY; his sister, Rosalyn Serniak of Tuckahoe, NY; and his niece Alix Serniak of NY, NY. He was predeceased by his sister, Helen Washenko. Funeral Information A Celebration of Stephen's Life will be on Friday, July 17th between the hours of 10:00am and 12:00pm at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury.
