John M. Elias Sr., of New Milford, beloved husband of Diana McGeorge (Chute) Elias, died at New Milford Hospital on Friday, March 26th. He was born in Yonkers, NY on April 6, 1933, son of the late John L. and Sophie (Tobias) Elias.
Mr. Elias was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Army. He worked as a computer programmer for the Battery Division at Union Carbide in Rye, NY, retiring in 1985
He was an avid fan of the New York Giants, and loved his cat, "Cookie."
A devoted family man, he will be sadly missed.
In addition to his cherished wife, Diana, he is survived by his son, John M. Elias, Jr.; his daughter, Laurie Elias-Parker and her husband Ken all of Waterbury; and his two grandchildren. He is also survived by four stepsons, Stephen McGeorge and his wife, Barbara of Hampton, VA, Bruce McGeorge and his wife, Fadia of Trumbull, David McGeorge of Providence, RI, and James McGeorge of New Milford; his stepdaughter, Heather McGeorge of Norwalk; and five step grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 42 years, Mary C Elias. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 30th at 11:00am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Burial in Prince of Peace Cemetery will take place on April 10th at 1:00pm.
The family will receive friends at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church on Tuesday morning at 10:00am, one hour prior to Mass. Donations Information
