Obituary of Mary DePaola

Mary DePaola November 01, 1921 - May 11, 2005 Mary DePaola, age 83, of New Fairfield, died on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Danbury Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Anthony DePaola. Mrs. DePaola was born in Jamaica, NY on November 1, 1921, a daughter of the late George and Loretta Luning. She was a hostess for Patricia Murphy's Restaurant in Westchester retiring in 1964 when she married Anthony. She was a long time parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor Church; many years ago she taught religious education. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Besides her loving husband of 40 years, she is survived by two daughters: Mary Beth DePaola of New Fairfield, Maureen Reilly and her husband Joseph of Cape Cod; a son: Roland Merlino of Arizona; six grandchildren: Patrick Reilly, Maureen Reilly, Joseph Reilly, Jr., Daniel Reilly, Shannon Engle, and J.R. Merlino; eight great grandsons; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Merlino. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 13, 2005 at 10:30 am at St. Edward the Confessor Church. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 12, 2005 from 6:00 until 8:00pm at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury.
