Obituary of Rocco Colucci

Rocco (Bob) Colucci August 26, 1932 - February 13, 2005 Rocco (Bob) Colucci, age 72, of Danbury died peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 13, 2005. He was the loving husband for 51 years to Gloria (Baldini) Colucci. Father to Ellen and Don, Buddy and Patti, Bobby and Helen; grandfather to John, Liza, Michael, Matt, Michelle, Kyle, and Dani; he was a brother to Ann Martino. And uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson: Robby and sisters Virginia and Marie. Rocco was born in Bronx, NY on August 26, 1932 a son of the late Lawrence and Loretta (Pastore) Colucci. He was a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Rocco was the founder and Art Director of Colucci Studios for over 40 years. After his retirement he worked part time as a graphic artist for Deltron Designs. Rocco was that rare individual whose life's mission was to love. He chose to express this love in various ways and in doing so touched many people. When he was diagnosed with cancer 13 years ago, he turned outward in order to share his love and his faith and his hope with others like himself. His passion was helping others; whether he was counseling one on one, facilitating a support group or creating art to promote healing he did all these things with love. Over the years, even after his cancer returned, he taught art therapy to cancer patients at the Praxair Cancer Center. Rocco was on the board of directors of ORINDA, an organization founded to foster healing using mind, body and spirit. He also volunteered at Ann's Place, the former home of I Can, a cancer support center for the Greater Danbury Area. A parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church, he served on the Parish Council and taught Religious Education. Rocco's family was the light of his life yet there was always enough love for everyone else. Even those that never met him have felt the ripple affect of Rocco. His kindness, humility, compassion, and most of all his love are his legacy to all of us.
