Obituary of Angelina Colla

Angelina Colla July 19, 1915 - May 29, 2006 Angelina �Angie� (DiBella) Colla Angelina "Angie" (DiBella) Colla, 90, of White Street, Danbury, wife of the late Joseph A. Colla, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, May 29th. She was born in Hartford on July 19, 1915, daughter of the late Dominic and Christina (Novella) DiBella. She moved to Danbury more than 70 years ago to her current home on White Street. She was a graduate of Danbury Normal School and from the Crandall School of Business. She began her career as a bookkeeper for the Seaman and Lynch Company in Danbury. In 1936 she married and devoted herself totally as a full-time homemaker, wife and mother. In 1957 she returned to work at the Main Medical Lab for several years. She then went to the office of Drs. Fenster, Thomas and Gross, retiring in 1987. The happiest moments of her life were spent with her family. She always had a beautiful smile on her face, right to the end. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Carole Salvatore; her son, Donald Colla; her very loving, devoted son-in-law, Frank, and daughters-in-law, Patty Colla and Susan (Colla) Wilcox. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Frank Salvatore and his wife, Sheryl, Paul Salvatore and his wife, Patty, Tina (Salvatore) Morrissette and her husband, Jim, Christina Colla, Lauren (Colla) Turner and her husband, Jason, and Brendan Colla; her great grandchildren, Matthew and Kaitlyn Marie Salvatore, Joshua, Alex, and Cameron Morrissette; her two sisters, Rosemarie D'Alessio, and Anna Martino; her brother, Dominic DiBella and his wife, Sandra; as well as many nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Clyde Eaton. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. Colla; her son, A. Joseph Colla, and her sister, Maryanne Mosca-Sordi. To know Angie was to love her and she will be sadly missed by her many friends. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00pm.
