Obituary of Amelia Pane Chiarella

Amelia Pane Chiarella March 03, 2008 Amelia (Pane) Chiarella, age 90, of Danbury, devoted wife of the late Philip Chiarella, died after a short illness at Bethel Healthcare on Monday, March 3rd. Millie was born in Danbury in 1917, daughter of the late Antonio, Sr. and Rose (Tomaino) Pane. She was employed at Risdon and Davis & Geck before retiring many years ago to spend her time with her family. She was a very loving, compassionate, and caring person who made sure her home was always open to family and friends. She was everyone's second mother and never turned anyone away. She will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Phyllis Sosbe of Danbury and Rosalind Narducci and husband John of Trumbull. She leaves six grandchildren: Deborah Poitras and husband Lindsay of Los Angeles, David Sosbe of Danbury, Kevin Sosbe and wife, Vicki of Danbury, John Narducci and wife Cathy of Newtown, Christine Berry and husband Michael of Newtown, and Jeffrey Narducci and wife Suzan of Raleigh, NC. She also leaves nine great grandchildren: John and Michael Narducci, Amanda, Ava and Michael Philip Berry, Anna and Alex Narducci, and Ian and Keira Sosbe. She was looking forward to the arrival of her tenth great grandchild this summer. She is also survived by her two brothers, Angelo Pane and wife Sally of Florida and Antonio Pane, Jr and wife, Margie, sisters-in-law, Christine Pane and Mary Belansky, all of Danbury and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by the love of her life, husband Philip, and her parents. Also, brother, Philip Pane and four sisters: Marie DeLuca, Antoinette Hendrix, Laura Waters, and Rosalee DeSantis. Millie was a strong determined little woman who overcame many illnesses and fought very hard this one last time. She is now in the comforting arms of her family and the Lord. She was a life-long communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Danbury. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, at 10:00am on Saturday, March 8th. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Friday between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00pm.
