Obituary of Ernesto Tan Ang

Dr. Ernesto Tan Ang August 21, 1946 - December 15, 2008 Dr. Ernesto Tan Ang, age 62, of Brookfield, died on Monday, December 15, 2008, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Gloria Pulido Ang. Ernie, or Nitoy as he was affectionately called, was born on August 21, 1946, in Dumaguete City, Philippines. He was the son of the late Vicente Ang and Maria Cleofe Tan. Dr. Ang received his bachelor's degree from Siliman University in Dumaguete City and his medical degree from the University of the Philippines in Manila. In 1975, he completed his internship at Danbury Hospital and went on to complete his neurology residency at New Jersey Medical School in Newark. Dr. Ang was a retired Major in the U.S. Air Force, having served at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. He worked in private practices in Chicago and later at Associated Neurologists in Danbury, from which he retired in 1990. Dr. Ang loved a good joke, a good story, and treasured his time spent with family and friends. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed working with Japanese maples, bamboo, and bonsai. A lover of nature, wildlife, and science, he enjoyed fishkeeping and raising and caring for his seven canine "children." In addition to Gloria, his wife of 35 years, he is survived by three daughters: Kathryn, Karen, and Sharon. He was predeceased by a sister Alicia Uy Parco; and by a brother, Alfredo Tan Ang. Funeral Information The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 20, 2008, from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. Cremation will be at the direction of the family.
