Obituary of John Chic Caprio

John Chic Caprio November 15, 1934 - November 14, 2007 John Amelio (Chic) Caprio, Sr., of Danbury, beloved husband of Evelyn (Stock) Caprio, went Home to his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 14th, the day before his 73rd birthday, at Pope John Paul II Center for Healthcare, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 15, 1934, son of the late John and Veronica (Furey) Caprio. Chic was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He served in the United States Navy and was a well known barber for many years. He also worked as an inspector for Amphenol, and Bendix Avionics in Florida. In addition to his wife of 7 years, Evelyn, he will be sadly missed by his six sons, John, Jr. and his wife, Jen, Robert and his wife, Donna, David, Peter, Paul, and Thomas and his wife, Marie; his two daughters, Rachel and Rebecca Caprio; his stepdaughters, Maureen Natale, Mary Ann Grogan, Lynda Ross, and Lori Hancock; and stepson, Skip Weyer. He is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Takis Mouzakis; several nieces and nephews; his best friend, Jim Stelzel and many other good friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Bill (Giggy) Caprio; his sister, Diane Mouzakis; and his baby sister. Chic will be fondly remembered for his unique sense of humor and likeable personality. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 19th at 11:00am at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Cremation and burial will take place at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 18th between 4:00 and 8:00pm at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury. The family wishes to thank all of his doctors and caregivers at Pope John Paul II and the staff of Hospice for the special loving care he was given.
