Obituary of Virginia Buckenmayer

Virginia Buckenmayer January 12, 1937 - April 18, 2008 Virginia "Jinny" (Lundberg) Buckenmayer, 71, of Vista Ave, Danbury, wife of the late Norman Buckenmayer, passed away peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital in the Cardiac ICU after a brief illness and surgery. She was born in Astoria, NY on January 12, 1937, daughter of the late William and Elvira (Lucente) Lundberg. Mrs. Buckenmayer worked as a librarian and substitute school teacher for the Brookfield School System, retiring after 15 years. She also worked at Shop Rite and Linen's N Things. She was a member of the Parents Without Partners Group in Danbury. She was a parishioner of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield, and served on the collection committee for the building of the church. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Laura Spinelli and her husband, Ralph of West Haven; her son, Jeffrey Buckenmayer and his wife, Julie, and their daughter, Taylor Adams, all of New Milford; and her dear friend and caregiver, Rob Sailer with whom she made her home. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Friday, April 25th between the hours of 7:00 and 10:00pm, and on Saturday morning between 9:00 and 11:00am. A graveside service will be held at 11:30am at St. Peter Cemetery, where she will join her late husband, Norman. Donations Information At the request of the family, contributions may be made in her memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 2139 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT. 06067. Virginia was on Dialysis at Danbury Hospital for five years and was on the list for a kidney transplant at Yale.
