Obituary of Kenneth L. Woodcock

Kenneth L. Woodcock January 09, 1922 - October 15, 2006 Kenneth L. Woodcock, 84, of Toddy Hill Road, Newtown, devoted husband of Janice (Crowe) Woodcock, died at Ashlar of Newtown, on Sunday, October 15th. He was born in Fredonia, New York, son of the late Earnest and Maude (Towne) Woodcock. He was a graduate of Syracuse University with a B.S. in Forestry. Mr. Woodcock was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army in Africa and the European Theater. He worked as a foreman for Woodcock Nurseries, upon retirement he worked in the Danbury School System. He was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, achieving Eagle Scout and was honored with the Silver Beaver Award. He was a committee member for Troop 23, and for Troop 6 which is dedicated to special needs boys. He also served as a Troop Leader for this council. In addition to his wife of 60 years, Janice, he is survived by his two sons, Mark K. Woodcock and his wife, Wendy of Shelton, and Scott J. Woodcock and his wife, Maureen of New Milford; his four grandchildren, Stephanie, Summer, Scott Jr., and Mandy Woodcock; his step-grandchildren: Dr. Daniel DiCapua and Michael DiCapua. He is also survived by his brother, Hugh Woodcock of Florida. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, on Thursday, October 19th at 11:00 am. Burial with full military honors in Wooster Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00pm. .
