Richard C. Williams Sr.
August 11, 1931 - April 27, 2011 Richard C. Williams Sr.
Richard C. Williams, Sr., age 79, of New Fairfield, beloved husband of the late Blanche M. (Houghtaling) Williams, passed away Wednesday, April 27th at Danbury Hospital, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Richard was born in Danbury, on August 11, 1931, son of the late James and Edna (Palmatier) Williams.
He attended schools in Danbury and was employed for 20 years as an upholsterer at Castro Convertible in Danbury. He later went on to work as Building Administrator for Rogers Park Junior High before retiring in 1996.
Richard was an avid sports fan and enjoyed fishing and clamming for many years until his illness. He was a life long aspiring poet and song writer as well.
Richard was best known for his sense of humor and constant joking, continuing to joke with his family by his bedside until his death.
Richard is survived by his three children, Roberta Carroccio and her husband, Anthony of Vermont, Rebecca Puglisi of Watertown and Richard C. Williams, Jr. of New Fairfield; along with his grandchildren Paul, Christian Carroccio and Michelle Garten, and Joseph Puglisi II, all of New Milford, and Jason Puglisi of Vermont. He is also survived by six great grandchildren; a brother, Roger of California; sisters Gertrude Chesto and Audrey Dinho of Brookfield; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Blanche, he was predeceased by his great grandson, Andrew Garten; and siblings, Robert, James, Franklyn, Muriel Hodgman, Marion Houghtaling, and Tina Shaia. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 29th at 11:00am at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning between the hours of 9:00 and 11:00am. Donations Information
