Obituary of Jean Voytek

Jean Voytek October 10, 1924 - August 09, 2007 Jean (Grogan) Voytek, 82, of Harbor Ridge Road, Danbury, devoted wife of the late Albert P. Voytek, died peacefully at Harborside Glen Hill on Thursday, August 9th. She was born in Mount Vernon, New York on October 10, 1924, daughter of the late John J. and Florence (Murray) Grogan. In her younger years, Mrs. Voytek worked as a secretary for the Federal Bureau of Investigations in New York City. She later worked as a secretary, alongside her husband, for Albert P. Voytek Builders in Danbury. A devoted homemaker, she dedicated herself to raising her children. She was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church and was active in the Ladies Guild and many other church activities. She was also a member of Alhambra. She will be sadly missed by her son, Albert "Skip" Voytek and his companion, Debra Smith of Danbury; her daughter, Jean Layda and her husband, Jack of Danbury; her three grandchildren, Donnie and Chad Marquis, and Kristie DaSilva; and two great grandchildren, Cameron and Devan. She is also survived by her brother, William Grogan of Carmel, NY as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Jack Grogan. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 13th at 10:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church. Cremation will take place as directed by the family. There are no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
