Obituary of Marie Antoinette Venturini

Marie Antoinette Venturini November 23, 1921 - February 14, 2009 Marie Antoinette Venturini, age 87, of Hillside Circle, Brookfield, wife of the late Salvatore Venturini, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, February 14th. She was born in Danbury on November 23, 1921, daughter of the late Onofrio and Luigina (Bonacci) Eriquezzo. Mrs. Venturini was a seamstress for Bagley Cleaners in Danbury. She was a lifelong parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, and was a member of the St. Cecelia Choir, and former Ladies Guild Society. She was also a member of AARP and enjoyed their activities and trips. Most importantly, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed sewing especially with her daughter, Martie, in "The Doll Dresser." She will be sadly missed by her son, Frederick Venturini and his wife, Glenda of Salem, IL; her daughter, Martina Garizio and her husband Paul, with whom she made her home; her five grandchildren, John and Paul Garizio, Jr., Fred Venturini, Jr., Marie Titus, and Susan Marchi; and fifteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Eleanor Eriquezzo; her Godson, Anthony Scalzo; several nieces and nephews; as well as special friends, Rockie Pasqualone, Barry and Laura Ness. In addition to her beloved husband, Salvatore, was predeceased by her three grandchildren, Caroline, Salvatore, and Jessica; four brothers, Frank, Americo, Fred and John Eriquezzo; and her sister, Laura Eriquezzo. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 20th at 1:00pm. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information Memorial Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
