John Tykarski, age 56, of Danbury, passed away unexpectedly at Danbury Hospital on June 21, 2010. John was born in Danbury on April 29, 1954, a son of Frances (Novella) Tykarski and the late Ernest Tykarski, Sr. He attended Danbury Schools and graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1972. He then attended Western Connecticut State University.
He worked at Pantry Pride in Danbury, and also at Unimation. He was currently a dedicated employee of the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked for 22 years. He enjoyed watching old movies and going to wrestling matches with his friend and co-worker, John McCarthy.
John is survived by his mother, Frances Tykarski of Danbury; his brother: Ernie Tykarski, Jr. of Florida; his nieces: Barbara and Danielle, and his nephews Brandon and Dylan. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. He was predeceased by his father, Ernest, and his nephew, E.J.
John was a kind and caring man, and a loving, devoted son, brother and uncle. He was devoted to his beloved mother, Frances, with whom he made his home, and whom he lovingly cared for. His loving nature and quick sense of humor will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. Despite his recent health issues, he remained strong and independent, never complaining and always with a smile and a kind word. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church, Danbury; burial in St. Peter's Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. Donations Information
