Obituary of Wilma Sarah Bourdeau

Wilma Sarah Bourdeau April 17, 1943 - July 14, 2005 Wilma Sarah (Webb) Bourdeau, 62, of Danbury, devoted wife of Rodney L. Bourdeau, went home to the Church Triumphant on Thursday, July 14th, in the presence of her family. She was born in Danbury on April 17, 1943, daughter of the late William H. and Wilma (Smigala) Webb. She was a graduate of Immanuel Lutheran School and Bethel High School, Class of 1961. Wilma was lovingly known to her family and friends as Billie. She was a woman of Faith who faced her eleven-year illness with a steadfast determination and inner strength. Through each struggle Billie knew that her Lord was always by her side. She was an inspiration to her family, friends and countless fellow cancer survivors. Billie was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danbury. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who instilled a solid foundation in the Lord in her family. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and enjoyed expressing herself through poetry and watercolors. In addition to her husband, Rodney of Danbury, her spirit will live on in her children, Jason W. Bourdeau of Danbury, Melissa Taylor and her husband, Robert of New Fairfield, Tania L. Porta and her husband, Alfredo of Danbury; her six grandsons, Connor, Ryan and Matthew Taylor, Alexander, Joshua, and William Porta; granddaughters, Katie and Laurie Porta; her brother, Herbert Webb and his wife, Lisa of Danbury; her sister, Barbara J. Gavagan and her husband Roger of Danbury; her mother-in-law, Rita Bourdeau; her aunts, Ilse and Ruth Smigala, as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 18 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury, on Monday, July 18th at 11:00am with Pastor Walt Harper officiating. Entombment in the Grandview Mausoleum at Wooster Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Sunday, July 17th between the hours of 3:00 and 8:00pm. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Robert Cooper and staff of Danbury Internal Medicine; the Danbury Hospital Oncology Unit; and her loving caregivers, Ingrid, Bertha, Trevlyn and Jennifer.
