Thomas N. Tarantino Jr., 76 of Danbury and husband of Jennie (Cappiello) Tarantino, died Tuesday, July 5th at home. Thomas was born May 3rd, 1935 in Stamford. He was the son of the late Thomas and Conchetta (Pensiero) Tarantino Sr.
Thomas loved to play golf and was a member of the Men's Club of Richter Park. He could always be found at his grandchildren's sporting events, as he never missed one. Thomas loved being surrounded by his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Along with his wife of 54 years, Jennie, Thomas is survived by his daughter, Valerie Froehlich and her husband Marc of Danbury; his two sons, Thomas Tarantino III and his wife Elissa of Danbury and David Tarantino and his wife Tracy of Newtown; three sisters, Olga Spinelli of Stamford, Ida Telesco of Stamford and Lydia Lupinacci of Cos Cob; six grandchildren, Laura Froehlich, Marc Froehlich, Tyler Tarantino, Alexa Tarantino, Nicholas Tarantino and Andrew Tarantino and one great grandchild, Cameron Froehlich and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 8 Robinson Ave, Danbury, Saturday, July 9th at 11:15 A.M.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 8th from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. Donations Information
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Thomas' name to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492.
