Obituary of Henry W. Szymanski

Henry W. Szymanski Sr. October 15, 1931 - June 05, 2009 Henry W. Szymanski, Sr., of Olive Street, Danbury, husband of the late Joan Marie (Kozubski) Szymanski, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Friday, June 5th. He was born in Jersey City, NJ on October 15, 1931, son of the late Stanley and Victoria Szymanski. Henry was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Air Force. He worked as a machinist for Eaton Corporation in Bethel for more than 30 years. Throughout his career as a machinist, he also worked as a professional photographer. He was a graduate of Danbury School of Aeronautics, and was an avid recreational pilot. Upon his retirement, he continued to work at various jobs, and was currently a shuttle driver for Avis Rental Car. He was a former volunteer fire fighter and supporter of the Beaver Brook Fire House. He was also a member of the Concordia and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. He will be sadly missed by his two sons, Henry W. Szymanski, Jr. and his wife, Nancy LaRose, and Brian K. Szymanski and his wife, Dawn, all of Danbury; his daughter, Carol Victoria V. Zarra and her husband, Gerry of Cheshire; and his six grandchildren, Caryn, Erica, Matthew, Steven, Charles and Jacob. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and extended family, especially the Pudelko Family. He was predeceased by his two brothers, George R. and Louis Szymanski. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 10th at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Tuesday between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm.
