Raffaela Stride
January 08, 1918 - November 08, 2010
Raffaela Stride, age 92, formerly of Flushing, NY, died at Danbury Hospital on Monday, November 8, 2010.
She was born in Astoria, NY on January 8, 1918, one of ten children of Louis and Vincenzina (Capuano) Spina. It was fitting that she was an Elvis Presley fan as they shared the same birthday. Mrs. Stride was loyal to her soap operas and the NY Mets. Mrs. Stride was best known for her work as a Matron on a school bus for special needs children. She liked to crochet and made the best manicotti and pizzelles! Most of all, she was the family caregiver; she gave loving care with a positive attitude and a cheerful heart.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Stride and his wife, Mary of Albrightsville, PA; 6 grandchildren: Kenneth Jr., Keith, Tracey, Anthony, Lisa and Rachel; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Eileen and a grandson, Steven and her nine siblings. She will also be missed by all her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral Information
