Obituary of Paul R. Stebbins

Paul R. Stebbins July 02, 1932 - November 12, 2007 Paul R. Stebbins, 75, of Grove Street, Danbury, devoted husband of Frieda Helen (Garni) Stebbins, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Monday, November 12th. He was born in Enosburg, VT. on July 2, 1932, son of the late Raymond and Mabel (Reed) Stebbins. Paul was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Navy. He graduated in 1963 from Indiana Tech with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Sperry Rail, as a guard at the Federal Prison, and as a Federal Inspector at Perkin Elmer. His hobbies included woodworking, bookbinding and genealogy He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was always ready to give of his time and talents. He will be sadly missed. In addition to his wife of 40 years, Frieda, he is survived by his stepson, Robert Bessel and his wife, Jeanne of Sumter, SC; his stepdaughters, Paulette Freedman and her husband, Gary of Stow, MA, and Marlene McBride and her husband, Robert of Wheaton, IL; his eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Raymond Stebbins of Myrtle Beach, SC; his sister, Clara Bosse of Hudson NH; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 18 Clapboard Ridge, Danbury on Saturday, November 17th at 11:00am. with Rev. Pastor Walt Harper, officiating. Burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery will follow. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Friday, November 16th between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00pm.
