Emilie L. Schmalbach February 01, 1917 - January 26, 2013 Emilie L. Schmalbach Emilie L. Schmalbach, 95, of Brookfield, passed away peacefully at Candlewood Valley Healthcare Center on Saturday, January 26th. She was born in NY, NY on February 1, 1917, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Lancaric. She was the head of the IBM Department at Stauffer Chemical in New York City for many years and later retired from Powerhouse Repair in Brewster. Emilie was a loving and devoted mother. She loved her dogs and enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. She will be sadly missed by her son, John Schmalbach of Brookfield. She was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 31st at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. Burial will be held in the spring in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, New Milford. The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Wednesday between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm.
