Mary Alice Bocaccio
July 29, 1927 - March 28, 2010
Mary Alice (Neves) Bocaccio, 82, of Danbury, beloved wife of 59 years to William Bocaccio, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, March 28th. She was born in Portugal on July 29, 1927, daughter of the late Franklin A. and Josephine (Barata) Neves.
She worked for American Radionics in Danbury for 21 years and later enjoyed working in the cafeteria at Great Plain School. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Rummy and Casino, traveling to Florida and cruising.
Mary Alice was a devoted homemaker and caretaker to numerous family members. She was a generous and loving person who put her family and friends before herself. Her family was the center of her life and she was happiest when they were all gathered together.
In addition to her cherished husband, William, she will be sadly missed by her son, Gary W. Bocaccio and his wife, Janet of Brookfield; her daughter, Donna M. Bothner and her husband, Karl S. of Danbury; her brother, Franklin Neves and his wife, Lisa of Danbury; and her grandchildren, Craig Bocaccio, Tracy Gravius and her husband, Tim, Alan Johnson and his fiancé Kaitlyn Martin, Kelly Truchsess and her husband, Chris, and Erik McKay, all of Danbury. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her two brothers, Manuel and Nelson Neves; and her sister, Maria Caetano. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday, April 1st at 10:30am. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 31st between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00pm.
Due to the restrictions of Holy Week, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church at a time and date to be announced. Donations Information
