Obituary of Prudence Edna Rogers

Prudence Edna Rogers April 16, 1912 - November 26, 2005 Prudence Edna (Scott) Rogers, wife of the late Carl Hollis Rogers, died at Filosa Convalescent Home on Saturday, November 26, 2005. Prudence was born in Danbury, CT on April 16, 1912. She was the daughter of the late William C. and Mazie (Hooks) Scott and was a life long area resident. She graduated from the Danbury Hospital School of Nursing in 1932, and for the majority of her professional career she worked as a private duty nurse. She was a lifelong member of St. James Church in Danbury. She is survived by her three daughters, Judith Merritt of Delta, PA., Joan Ferrarone of Danbury, and Gail Beard, wife of Thomas, also of Danbury. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Linda Merritt, Kevin Merritt and Brian Merritt of Kailua, HI., Troy Todd and Tamara (Beard) Stephens of the greater Houston area in Texas, Chuck Ferrarone of Deerfield, NH., and Ann Ferrarone of New Milford; and ten great-grandchildren, Lauren, Heleina, Karl, Avery and Ian Merritt, Brooke and Blaine Todd, Maggie Stephens, and Alyssa and Matthew Ferrarone. In addition, she leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and friends too numerous to count. She was predeceased by her siblings Myrtle Wren, Eulah Budd, and James Scott. Prudie was a resident of Filosa for nearly eight years prior to her death, and during her time there she received exceptional care and attention from their compassionate and dedicated staff of professionals. We consider the staff and residents of Filosa to be her extended family, and offer our heartfelt thanks to all who cared for her there. Funeral Information Calling hours will be held Friday, December 2nd between the hours of 6 - 8pm and Saturday, December 3rd between 1:00 - 2:00pm. at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm with Rev. Iris Peterson of St. James Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel.
