Obituary of Elizabeth Rakowsky

Elizabeth Rakowsky September 24, 1923 - April 28, 2011 Elizabeth Rakowsky, age 87, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on April 28, 2011. She was the wife of the late Stephen Rakowsky. A lifelong Danbury resident, Mrs. Rakowsky was born on September 24, 1923, a daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Manacek) Stasney. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a member of the Sokol Lodge, and volunteered for many years at the Dorothy Day Hospitality House. Most of all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and great aunt; she loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed. She is survived by 2 sons: Kevin Rakowsky of Monroe, NY and Stephen Rakowsky of Danbury; 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a sister Mildred Seild who was also her dearest friend.
