Ruth L. (Hubbs) Phinney, 99, of Brookfield, wife of the late Gough V. Phinney, died at Masonicare in Newtown on Friday, April 30th. She was born in Jonesville, New York on January 13, 1911, daughter of the late Robert K. and Maud (Sylvester) Hubbs. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Brookfield.
Mrs. Phinney worked as a lab technician for Davis & Geck for 19 years. She was an avid golfer and member of the Richter Ladies Golf League. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
She will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Brenda M. Burdick and her husband, Garry C. of Southbury , and Sandra "Sonie" Phinney-Miller of Brookfield and South Carolina ; her seven grandchildren, Dawn and Kim Burdick, Carrie Roldon and her husband, Marco, Garrett Burdick and his wife, Tanya, Kristen Parks and her husband, TJ, Kurt Miller and his wife, Tracy, and Rebecca Corna and her husband Mark; her ten great grandchildren, Brianna and Myles Sancious, Victor and Maya Roldon, Amanda and Abigail Corna, John and Emily Miller, Walker and Cooper Burdick; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son-in-law, William Miller. Funeral Information
A Graveside Service will be held at Wooster Cemetery on Thursday, May 6th at 1:00pm. There are no calling hours. The Brookfield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
