Obituary of Rosemary Pavlu

Rosemary Pavlu May 07, 1910 - May 29, 2006 Rosemary Pavlu, 96, of Glen Hill Road, Danbury, devoted wife of Louis Pavlu, died on Monday, May 29th at The Gardens, in Danbury. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 7, 1910, daughter of the late Edward and Rose (Herrgan) Kiernan. She made her home in Danbury in 1965. Mrs. Pavlu was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church and volunteered at countless church bazaars, carnivals and other fundraising events. She and her husband were the founders of the Bingo program to benefit St. Gregory the Great School and they worked as volunteers for more than 28 years. The two continued to support and attend Bingo until earlier this year. Prior to moving to Danbury, Mrs. Pavlu founded and ran a Bowling League for more than 150 teenagers. In addition to her husband of 67 years, Louis, she is survived by her daughter, Mary-Lou Pakenas and her husband, Robert of Higley, Arizona; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury, on Thursday at 10:00am. Burial in St. John Cemetery, Middle Village, NY., will follow. There will be no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.
