Obituary of James F. Moffa

James F. Moffa May 03, 1935 - February 10, 2005 James F. Moffa, 69, of Kendall Terrace West, Danbury, devoted husband of Mary (Pereira) Moffa, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, February 10th. He was born in Danbury on May 3, 1935, son of the late Francis and Alexandra (Maigis) Moffa. He was a graduate of St. Joseph Parochial School, Class of 1949, and Danbury High School, Class of 1953. Mr. Moffa attended the University of Connecticut where he met his wife, Maria Pereira and the two were married on May 19, 1956 in New Bedford. They settled in Danbury to raise their family. He also attended the University of Bridgeport and Western Connecticut State University. He retired as Data Processing Manager in 1988 from Republic Foil after 33 years of employment. He continued to work part-time for Levine Automotive and fully retired in 1998. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America, was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church, was a member of the Data Processing Managers Association, he enjoyed his activities at the Cardiac Rehab Department at Danbury Hospital, and was a true computer geek. A loving family man, he will be sadly missed by his devoted wife of 48 years, Mary. He will be sadly missed by his two sons, James, Jr. and his wife, Sherri of Spring, TX., Michael and his wife, Sherri of Danbury; his two daughters, Melinda Cacamis and her husband, Douglas of Hamden, Michelle Trotter and her husband Mark of Clearwater, FL; his eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, David, Anthony and James Moffa, Mark, Nick, Luke, and Alexandra Trotter. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Novak of Danbury; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 14th at 10:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Sunday, February 13th between the hours of 6 and 9:00pm.
