Jean E. McCabe November 13, 1928 - January 28, 2007 Jean E. (Mazurak) McCabe, 78 of Brookfield, CT passed away peacefully January 28, 2007 at home. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Joseph A. McCabe. Jean was born November 13, 1928 in Mount Kisco N.Y., the son of the late Charles & Fanny (Ingersoll) Mazurak. The family moved to Bedford, N.Y. when she was 6 months old where she attended NY schools. She enjoyed positions in banking, bookkeeping and Real Estate and was an avid reader. A Brookfield resident for 37 years, she cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. She is survived by her 9 children and their spouses; Sheila and Gary Goehrke; Laurie and David Batchelor; Kerry and Cathy McCabe; Joseph S. and Cathi McCabe; Colleen and Michael Stryker; Bonnie and Michael Novak; Patrick and Sharon McCabe; Glenn and Grace McCabe; Daniel McCabe; along with 11 Grandchildren, 3 Step-Grandchildren and 2 Step-Great-Grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Dorothy Rossi and Virgina Palmer as well as several nieces and nephews. Jean's strength of character, sense of humor and commitment to family will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut; especially the compassionate care of Robin Viklund R.N., Juana Fermin C.N.A and Melina Andrews C.N.A. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, Brookfield, on Thursday, February 1, at 10:00am. Burial at St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury to follow. The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Wednesday, January 31, between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information Contributions in memory of Mrs. McCabe may be made to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, 405 Main Street, Danbury, CT 06810; or to St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Roman Catholic Church, 138 Candlewood Lake Road, Brookfield, CT 06804.
