Obituary of Robert F. Beardsley

Robert F. Beardsley Sr. May 28, 1927 - January 28, 2007 Robert F. Beardsley, Sr., 80, of West Starr Plains Road, Danbury, devoted husband of the late Gloria (Petro) Beardsley, died at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, January 28th. He was born in Danbury on May 28, 1927, son of the late Charles and Margaret Beardsley. Mr. Beardsley was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army in the 865th Ordnance Heavy Automotive Maintenance Company. He later owned and operated J & B Roofing in Danbury. He was a member of the Elks Club, the Moose Club and the Eagle Club. He was also a member of the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion. He will be sadly missed by his son, James Beardsley and his wife, Zellie of Safety Harbor, Florida; and his two grandsons, Dennis Michael Beardsley, Jr. and Jamesison Beardsley, both of Danbury. He is also survived by his brother, George "Whitey" Beardsley of Danbury; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Graveside Service will be held at St. Peter Cemetery on Wednesday at 10:00am. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Tuesday, January 30th between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm with a Funeral Service at 7:00pm.
