Dorothy (McLaughlin) Leo died peacefully on Tuesday, June 28th, surrounded by her family. Dottie was born on September 13, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Edward Manning and Estelle (Young) McLaughlin of Scarsdale, NY.
After graduating from Colby Junior College in NH, Dottie married Captain William D. Leo, USMC of Bronxville, NY. In her lifetime, Dottie traveled extensively and she was an enthusiastic horsewoman, dog fancier and lifetime Yankee fan. She looked forward to completing the weekly NY Times crossword puzzle in pen.
Dottie is survived by her five children, William Leo Jr. and his wife Patti of Kent, Deborah Bennett and her husband Bruce of Cornwall, Karen Setaro and her husband Jim of New Milford, Kathy Mankin and her husband Jay Poitras of Millertown, NY, and Timothy Leo and his wife Cathy of Bethel, fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, William, and son, Michael. Funeral Information
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 8th at St. Peter Cemetery in Danbury.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 7th at Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Rd. Brookfield. Donations Information
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Little Guild of St. Francis, 285 Sharon Goshen Turnpike, W. Cornwall, CT 06796.
