Obituary of Arthur Bauer

Arthur Bauer September 02, 1932 - May 17, 2008 Arthur "Archie" Bauer, age 76, formerly of Osborne Street, Danbury, devoted husband of Dorothy (Jazinski) Bauer, died in Scranton, PA on Saturday, May 17th. He was born in Danbury on September 2, 1932, son of the late Hubert and Mildred (Lofthouse) Bauer. He was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School. Archie was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Army. He was a member of the Presidential Honor Guard for Presidents Truman and Eisenhower, and the Honor Guard walking the Tomb of the "Unknown" Soldier. He owned and operated Bauer and Son Fencing in Danbury for more than 27 years. He was a member of the Southern New York Racing Association and was Drive #15 at the Danbury Racearena. He loved to travel, enjoyed studying and collecting Indian culture, and was a very friendly and outgoing person. In addition to his beloved wife of 56 years, Dorothy, he will be sadly missed by his son, Brad Bauer and his wife, Karin of Woodbury; three daughters, Darcae Lanphear and her husband, Cougar of PA, Cheryl Bonis of New Milford, and Georgia Lee Pastilha and her husband, Tony P of NY; five grandchildren, Omyo Tenny and Aimee, Michael Chemero and Lisa, Desiree Lanphear of the PA National Guard, Amber and Austin Bauer; and great grandchild Kayla Chemero. He is also survived by his faithful friend, Klancee and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday, May 21st at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00pm. Donations Information Archie was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. We all loved you Archie and we will miss you forever. "I am smiling down upon all of you, I am at peace now."
