Obituary of Dominic P. Larricia

Dominic P. Larricia May 03, 1929 - April 05, 2008 Dominic P. Lariccia, age 78, died Saturday, April 5th at Danbury Hospital after a short illness. A lifelong Danbury resident, he was born in Danbury on May 3, 1929, the youngest child of the late Philip and Maria (Magliarro) Lariccia. He was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1947. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Connie, his daughter, Ramona Brunetti and her husband, Robert; his sons, Philip Lariccia and Dominic Lariccia, Jr. and his wife, Rebecca; a brother, John Lariccia; two sisters, Frances Brown and Susan Mannion; five grandchildren, Robert Brunetti, Jr., Allyson Brunetti, Daniel, Michael and Niccalena Lariccia; and in-laws, Art and Mary Magnifico, and Joseph and Ann Moffa. He was predeceased by his sister, Carmella Bromly and his dog, "Frankie." He was in the restaurant business his entire life, starting with his parents at Mama Lariccia's El Dorado Restaurant, the Mayflower Restaurant, and with Dominic's El Dorado Restaurant, retiring in 1986. During his retirement, he ran the Sandtrap Restaurant at Richter Park. He was active in the community, serving on several local boards and organizations; he was a member and past Chairman of the Richter Park Authority, and an active member of the Catholic War Veterans. He also sponsored numerous Little League Baseball and basketball teams. He was an avid Yankee's fan, a lover of horse racing, and a golfer of unique talents. In his younger days he was an avid recreational pilot. Dominic will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 8th at St. Joseph Church in Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Monday between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm.
