Obituary of Albert J. Kleiss

Albert J. Kleiss February 08, 1913 - August 02, 2007 Albert J. Kleiss, 94, of the Cascades in Bethel, husband of the late Florence (Rompel) Kleiss, died on Thursday, August 2nd in Bethel. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 8, 1913, son of the late Edward and Emilie (Wagner) Kleiss. Mr. Kleiss was a Veteran of World War II, serving in Central Europe with the United States Army 722nd Railway Operating Company C. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brookfield. He enjoyed Square Dancing and was a member of Crestwoods Square Dance Club in New Jersey. He was also a member of the St. George Society of the Long Island Railroad. He will be sadly missed by his sister, Lillian Sommers of Stamford; his niece, Melinda and Dennis Schroeder and their children, William, Jonathan and Karin Schroeder; his two nieces, Deborah Sommers and her husband, Richard Fraoli of Stamford and Lorna Bruce of Houston, TX; as well as many beloved great nieces and one great nephew. He was predeceased by his brother, Edward Kleiss; his three sisters, Ida Peachman, Helen Kleiss, and Mathilda Liebetruth; and his nephew, Carl Peachman. Funeral Information Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 7th at 10:00am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brookfield, Pastor Mark Nordskog officiating. Burial in Whiting Memorial Park, New Jersey, will follow.
