Obituary of James H. McCallion

James H. McCallion, of Bridgewater, cherished husband of Michelle (Gunsolley) McCallion, died at Yale New Haven Hospital on Sunday, February 4, 2024, after a courageous battle with leukemia.  He was born in New York, NY on May 15, 1960, son of Josephine (Preininger) McCallion and the late Alexander G. McCallion, and raised in the Bronx.  His love for hunting and the outdoors would bring him to Connecticut and ultimately UCONN, graduating with a Bachelor of Psychology with the class of 1982.  Jim worked many odd jobs before finding his calling in real estate. First as a realtor/broker before becoming an Appraiser and the owner of McCallion Appraisal, appraising residential real estate properties all over western Connecticut for over 30 years. A hammer, wrench and spanner were never far away as he tinkered with his many hobbies on the weekends including hunting, cabinetry, collecting, and vehicle restorations.  All seasons would find him with his Packards, Cadillacs, Dodges, and Jeeps, either in the garage or on the side of the road!  In addition to his mother, Josephine, and his wife of 18 years, Michelle, he will be missed by his son, Brian McCallion; his sister, Susan McCallion and her husband, John Zanni; and his former wife, Judy McCallion.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Kelly.
