It has been a long time since I delivered the newspaper to the Fairchild's home, but I am so thankful I did. Although I am now 48 years old I still will refer to them as Mr. And Mrs. Fairchild ...with that being said, I will always be thankful for their hospitality on those cold winter days - I don't even know how many cups of hot chocolate or Pepperidge Farm products I was fortunate to consume while delivering the paper to the Fairchild's, but it was quite a bit and I always looked forward to it. Of all the customers on my route Mr. and Mrs. Fairchid were my absolute favorites. Rest in Peace Mrs. Fairchild and to Mr. Fairchild, Joey, Robbie and Cindy I am so sorry -

You were my rock, my therapist, my outlet, my truest friend. I feel lost without you, knowing I could call anytime to have you to listen, to care, to understand and laugh. I'm sorry for your pain and truly grateful it has ended. Selfishly I want you back, I want to hear your voice, your giggle, your sigh of surrender at the things you cannot change and learned to accept. Your fight to carry on, and strength to support all those you loved. You are truly the strongest woman I know and it's a privilege to be your granddaughter. I don't know how we will carry on without you but I do know the lessons you taught us, the love that you gave and the legacy you have left behind. You may not be here in flesh but your spirit is and I know you will be watching over us just as you always have, now truly the angel you always were.
I love you nanny.
Love Nikki
