Philip R. Schulz
August 23, 1937 - April 30, 2010
Philip R. Schulz, 72, a lifelong resident of Danbury, passed away on Friday, April 30. Philip was born to the late Ernest and Barbara (Feulner) Schulz on August 23, 1937. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School and Henry Abbott Technical School before marrying his wife and companion of 47 years, Anneliese (Schladitz) Schulz.
Philip worked as a machinist for many years before becoming a machine shop instructor at Wright Technical School in Stamford. Coming full circle, his last year of teaching was at his old high school, Abbott Tech.
In his younger years, he was a member of the Danbury Fish & Game's Rod & Reel Club and belonged to his church's bowling league. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danbury and also enjoyed attending services at Grace Faith Assembly. His service to God and the community was exemplified by the way he provided a role model for his children and the students he taught. As a double amputee, he facilitated the Amputee Support Group at the Danbury Hospital Rehabilitation Center, in an effort to provide caring and understanding to others in similar situations.
In addition to his cherished wife, Anneliese, he will be sadly missed by his son, Phillip Schulz and his wife, Theresa of Danbury; his daughter, Lisa Muller and her husband, Ludwig of Anthem, Arizona; his five grandchildren, Thomas, Cameron, and Kathryn Muller, Phillip and Sarah Schulz. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Schmeltz of Danbury, one niece and one nephew, and his Aunts, Marie and Caroline Feulner. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran on Friday, May 7th, at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
