Obituary of Ella E. Mueller

Ella E. Mueller October 02, 1919 - April 23, 2011 Ella E. Mueller, age 91, of Sandy Hook (formally of Bridgeport), died peacefully on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Bethel Health Care. She was the wife of the late Charles Mueller. Ella was born in Yugoslavia on October 2, 1919. She immigrated to America with her husband and children in 1951. She was a long time employee of St. Ann Convent in Black Rock, Bridgeport, where she was a cook and housekeeper for the Sisters of The Daughters of Charity. In 1973 she relocated to Sandy Hook and was employed at Fairfield Hills State Hospital until her retirement in 1988. Ella was an avid gardener all her life. She took pleasure in growing her own fruits and vegetables, and her beautiful flower gardens which all enjoyed. Ella also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Ella is survived by a son: Otto Mueller and his wife, Joan of Bridgeport; 3 daughters: Gerda Hanson of Manchester; Renate Deer of Bridgeport; and Dianna Seaman and her husband, Jonathan of Southbury; a daughter-in-law: Marion (Mueller) Alves of Amarillo, TX; 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Mueller a great grandson, Michael, and 2 sons-in-law: Leonard Hanson and Ralph Deer. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 29th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Ann Church, 481 Brewster St. Bridgeport. Burial in St. Michael Cemetery in Stratford will follow.The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 28th from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St. Danbury.
