Obituary of Patricia Mae Dean

Patricia Mae Dean, beloved mother and grandmother, passed peacefully at home in South Carolina, on January 21st after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her three loving sons.

 Patricia (Dottie) was born May 24th, 1932 in Norwalk, CT. She was the daughter of David and Edith Gregory. In 1950, Patricia graduated from Staples High School in Westport, CT. She attended Western Connecticut State College and received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Patricia taught in the Danbury school system for 29 years, and retired in 1984.

 In 1956, she married Keith Dean. They moved to Danbury, Connecticut, where they raised their three sons. Keith started Rye Ridge Tile with Luke Colombo in 1973, and Patricia played an instrumental role in taking the risk to start this new venture.

 After raising their children, Patricia and Keith moved to Surfside Beach, South Carolina. Patricia loved eating out with friends and family. Her great passions were reading, working on her memoirs, and shopping— she was always sporting a crisp, white-collared shirt. Patricia was an avid scrap-booker, and her family will forever cherish the beautiful memories she documented in albums.

 Ten years ago, Patricia started Triple D properties in Wilton, a real estate business that connected her to her Wilton roots.

 Her church, Trinity Presbyterian, was very important to her, and she especially appreciated Bible Study with Pastor Tony. Patricia’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and making family memories at the beach house. Life didn’t get any better than that for her.

 Patricia is predeceased by her mother, father, and husband, Keith.

 She is survived by her sons, David (Cindy), Michael, and Roger (Kathleen), and her grandchildren, Cory, Rachel, Keith, Andrew, and Cameron.

 A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, February 11th at 1:00pm at King Street United Church of Christ Cemetery, Danbury.    

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made here in memory of Patricia to her beloved church, Trinity Presbyterian in Surfside, South Carolina.
