Newtown – Mrs. Deborah (Carr) Gardiner, age 89, of Newtown passed away peacefully on Friday September 9, 2022 at the Bethel Healthcare Center. She was the wife for 61 years of the late Guy Gibson Gardiner.

Mrs. Gardiner was born April 7, 1933 in Winchester, MA daughter of the late Franklin and Dorothy (Mercer) Carr. She was a graduate of the Boston School of Dental Nursing, retired after working for many years as a Dental Assistant at Brighton Hospital and was a member of the Congregational Church of New Fairfield. She enjoyed gardening and sewing and was a member of the Danbury Garden Club and the Danbury/New Fairfield Women’s Club.

Mrs. Gardiner is survived by her daughter Pamela G. Mickewich and her husband Robert of Newtown, her brother: David Stowell Carr of The Villages, FL, her daughter in law: Diane Giardina of New Fairfield and her granddaughter: Katherine Ashley Mickewich. She was predeceased by her son: Bruce F. Gardiner, her brother: Robert F. Carr and her sister in law: Barbara Carr.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gardiner will be held on Sunday November 13, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the New Fairfield Congregational Church. There are no calling hours. The Cornell Memorial Home 247 White Street Danbury is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gardiner’s family would like to thank the Staff of Bethel Healthcare for the excellent care that they provided.

Mrs. Gardiner’s family has requested that contributions be made, in lieu of flowers, in memory of her son Bruce to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Donor Services P.O. Box 9808 Washington, DC 20090-8018
